How to top up credits and set auto-recharge

Add credits to your Autopilot account by hand, or switch on auto-recharge so your balance tops itself up before it runs out.

Before you start #

  • You need to be an Admin on your Autopilot account.
  • You need a payment card on your account.

Top up by hand #

  1. Settings → Billing

Click Settings at the bottom of the left menu, then Billing.

  2. Add Balance

In the credits section, click Add Balance, choose an amount and confirm. Your card is charged and the credits appear straight away.

Set up auto-recharge #

  1. Settings → Billing

Find the auto-recharge settings in the credits section.

  2. Choose when to top up

In when balance lower than, enter the balance that should trigger a top-up.

  3. Choose how much to add

In Auto Recharge with, enter how much should be added each time, then save.

Good to know #

  • Auto-recharge is the safest choice. If your balance hits zero, texts and emails to customers can stop.
  • Pick a top-up amount that covers a normal week, so your card is not charged too often.
  • To change the card, add a new card in Settings → Billing.

Troubleshooting #

If auto-recharge fails, your bank may need you to approve each payment (3D Secure). Some of these cards cannot be charged automatically. Top up by hand, or use a different card.

n

If a top-up keeps failing, Autopilot tries again once a day for up to 7 days, then stops and lets the account Admins know. A successful top-up by hand starts automatic top-ups again.
