How to connect your Google or Outlook calendar

Connect the calendar you already use, so Autopilot never offers a slot when you are busy and new bookings appear on your phone.

Before you start #

  • A Google or Outlook (Microsoft 365) calendar you can edit.
  • Each person connects their own calendar from their own login.

Steps #

  1. Settings → Calendars → Connections

Open the Connections tab at the top.

  2. Connect Google or Outlook

Add a new connection, choose Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar and click Connect. Sign in and accept every permission it asks for.

  3. Choose your linked calendar

Pick the calendar new bookings should be written to, then save.

  4. Add conflict calendars

Turn on any other calendars that should block time, such as a family or personal calendar. Autopilot will not offer slots when those show you as busy.

Good to know #

  • Your linked calendar automatically blocks time too.
  • Only events marked as busy block slots. Events marked as free do not.
  • With two-way sync, events you add in Google or Outlook also appear in Autopilot.
  • You need permission to edit the calendar you link, not just view it.

Troubleshooting #

If you see a red warning about the connection, click Reconnect and sign in again.

If a slot shows as free when you are busy, check the event in your own calendar is marked as busy and that calendar is added as a conflict calendar.
